What a class looks like
A one-hour session in the studio working on the current term's themed project. Students receive technical guidance, use professional pottery tools and materials, and progress through designing, building, and glazing their piece over the term. The atmosphere is supportive and collaborative.
👨👩👧Drop-off; parents do not need to stay during the session.
Right for your child?
Children and teens interested in hands-on 3D art, tactile creative expression, and developing patience and fine motor skills. Suitable for ages 6–15.
Curriculum & Progression
Themed units (rotating)
Project-based learning with a new inspiring theme each term (e.g. 'Creatures of the Deep', 'Functional Art for Your Home', 'Architectural Wonders'). Students have creative freedom within the theme while learning specific pottery techniques. Each term spans 6–8 weeks covering design, building/sculpting, and finishing/glazing.
Learning Outcomes
Fine motor skills and dexterity, creativity and problem-solving, patience and focus, emotional expression through a tactile medium, self-esteem from completing a functional, food-safe artwork.

About
Term-based ceramics classes for children aged 6–15 at a studio in Mui Wo, Lantau Island. Each term follows a themed project (e.g. 'Creatures of the Deep', 'Functional Art for Your Home', 'Architectural Wonders') where students progress from sketching and core technique learning through building, sculpting, drying, bisque firing, and glazing to create a finished food-safe piece. All materials, tools, kiln firings, and glazes are included. Classes are one hour long.
Before your first class
Arrive a few minutes early to settle in. Wear clothes that can get messy. The trial lesson includes all materials and kiln firing for a simple project aligned with the current term plan.
